SKIN BREAKOUT PART 2

If you’ve read the Part1, this is not a continuation of it but rather I had another major breakout.

While waiting for the result of NLE, I tried to apply in a call center company (Convergys) fortunately I got in and bound for 6 months contract. Just after a month the result of NLE went out, I absolutely passed.

I thought before being a customer representative is an easy job. I was wrong I went through intensive training and take note the company is not locally owned so rules are strictly implemented and should be followed.
After 5 months of grave yard shift, 9 hours a day in the office my bio clock and bodily processes has shifted as well. Thus after 6 months of being pimple-free skin I was again attacked by zits which again turned out to be huge acnes. That time I was capable to finance myself in going to a reputable and credible derma. Because I can no longer do the previous regimens I did during my first breakout I don’t have enough time due to work.

It started again with one pimple on my left cheek then started to reproduce every single day. Or the old and shrink one will be replaced by a new one. I read through reviews about skin clinics. And I found one just within Makati area where was my office was near. The Skin Clinic by Annaliza C. dela Rosa, MD. The clinic is located at Pasong Tamo, Dela Rosa Square. (Click to see Review of the clinic)

I had 2 sessions of glycolic peel once a week. When the acne dried out and no new growth of acne I had diamond peel. And I followed the prescription of products that would suit my skin.
* Facial wash – mild liquid soap
* Toner – Clindamycin Solution
* Cream – 5% Glycolic Acid (applied at night/ sleep. I used this during the healing period of my skin)
* Sunscreen – Hamilton Superblock SPF80 (I only use this if I’ll be exposed to sun too much like travel or vacation)
* Moisturizer – Celeteque (used morning and evening)

After 2 months of using these skin routine and products my skin had its glow back. It became pimple-free again. I’m trying to be committed visiting the clinic and have diamond peel even just once a month but sometimes I never do so.

And as my dermatologist advised me I changed shampoo and conditioner. i searched and read labels of different shampoos local and foreign brands.
My new shampoo: NIVEA baby Silk Shine Shampo and;
 New conditioner is: Citre Shine fresh Fusion

I am neither a skin consultant nor endorsing a product. I am just sharing my opinion based on my own experience. Take note, these products and steps might have worked for me but might not suit your skin. Better yet consult dermatologist.

SKIN BREAK OUT PART 1

I had a severe skin break out when I was still reviewing for the Nurse Licensure Exam (NLE) year 2009. It started with 1 pimple above my upper lip then it multiplies to the other part of my face every single day. What makes it horrific instead of just a pimple they turned out to be acne and they're very unusual because they don't look like acne instead like an ant bite or skin allergy. I consulted a dermatologist (Davao) and she said I had severe acne and the only procedure is by doing acne surgery, she prescribed oral medications one of which is antibiotic. I’m afraid of the surgery and I don’t want to risks myself with the side effects drinking the medicines, if in case that would be my first time.

I know others might be annoyed with what I did. I searched through the web. I read forums, researches about my skin’s condition, watched youtube about other ladies going through my experience. That was the time I saw Michelle Phan’s videos about skin care and regimens.

After the NLE, I focused on my skin. I didn’t go back to the dermatologist because first;
-the dermatologist face whom I consulted is not convincing,
-she too had pimples and her face is not clear so how can I trust that person to make my skin better,

second
-it’s way too expensive my consultation was almost 500php and I have a feeling that I am not on the right hand.

What I did:
(I know what I did was kindda crazy because it’s like I went through experimenting my own skin, why not, because we all know some product may work for other and ain’t for me)

* I’ve read that Metathione is not just a medication but would give you clear skin and good for skin allergies (my friend's own experience). I bought a bottle (from Mercury) which costs around 2500php way back 2009. And drink it together with vitamin C (Fern-C).

* I mixed my own facial mask.
                   1- Plain yoghurt and oatmeal (morning).

                   2- Aspirin and Honey (evening).

* I used Eskinol- pimple fighting facial wash.

* Just after the facial wash, I’m dubbing apple cider vinegar then wash it off. I never rub my skin too harsh.

* Then a toner. Eskinol Classic the clear one and I mixed a Dalacin-C

* I moisturized with – Celeteque facial moisturizer. Actually the promo guy is the one who introduced me the product.

* Then I used the erase peeling solution.

These are my skin rituals for almost 2 weeks (ever other day for the masks) and I never went outside home especially when I was peeling off. I had to prepare myself that time because I’ll be having my flight here to Manila from Davao.

The products worked for me, because every time I woke up I noticed no new zit has popped out. I began to peel in just 3 days of applying the solution. In 3 weeks I haven’t noticed new pimple I only had to deal with the scars. After a month I only used the facial wash, toner and moisturizer. And used the peeling solution once a week, I concentrated on the areas with scars.

After 2 months my skin went back to normal. I was so happy then.

By the way before my skin breakout occurred I was a Ponds avid user. I used the flawless white-deep whitening facial foam, pore conditioning toner and flawless white-visible lightening day cream. These have been my skin maintenance since I was college. And I had clear, fair and smooth skin. But I learned from a Ponds sales lady that Ponds had re-formulated the products. Maybe that was the reason that they had buy 1 take 1 promo for the ponds cream which normally costs more than 500php (i bought the prom package this was when i am reviewing then had a break out). I thought my skin might have reacted to the reformulation, so I stopped using any Ponds product.

I am neither a skin consultant nor endorsing or damaging a product. I am just sharing my opinion based on my own experience. Take note, these products and steps might have worked for me but might not suit your skin. Better yet consult dermatologist if you’re unsure and afraid.

I’ll be making review for some of the products used above.
